Reading Stars Phonics Assessment Resource

The Reading Stars Phonics Assessment Resource Pack is an essential resource to ensure that every student is succeeding in their reading. The pack supports the reading books in the Ransom Reading Stars Phonics programme, with a running reading record for every one of the books (from Phases 2 to 5), along with comprehensive details on how to use running reading records, both to monitor children’s individual progress and to ensure that they are reading books at the correct level of difficulty. The pack also includes detailed information on the letters, sounds and high frequency words covered in each reading book, and photocopiable checklists of the letters and sounds and the high frequency words covered in each Phase of the Letters and Sounds programme Using this resource teachers can: work out how each child is progressing with their reading (including understanding the kinds of errors they are making and the extent to which they are self-correcting) ensure that every child is reading books that are suitably challenging for their reading level (i.e. not too easy and not too difficult) identify where (and what kind of) further help or practice is required for any child at any stage provide a written record of each child's progress  Reading Stars Phonics is a programme of 133 fully decodable synthetic phonics readers aligned to Letters and Sounds.
